About Me

My interest in the joys of photography started at the age of 14 with my first camera. I have been a member of several camera clubs, and a frequent committee member. I’m an Honorary Life Member of Windsor Photographic Society. I have served on committees of the Royal Photographic Society for well over a decade, and have taken on a range of tasks with different groups.
I achieved my Licentiateship (LRPS) of the Royal Photographic Society in 2004, and have been promising myself ever since that I should try for Associateship (ARPS). One day!
I am a member of United Photographic Postfolios (UPP), and am enjoying the opportunities it is giving me to sharpen my printing skills, and to think seriously about critical appraisal of other photographers’ work.
I now live in Shoreham-by-Sea, on the south coast of England, having moved here from Berkshire in 2014. I’m enjoying the photographic opportunities afforded by both the sea and the South Downs National Park.
My photography is fairly wide-ranging, as you will see here, though I do favour travel and the urban landscape. Please explore my galleries. I hope you will enjoy them; I would welcome any feedback. Contact email: alan@alancrossphotography.com.

About My Galleries

It’s always difficult to know how best to categorise work, especially when it is as eclectic as mine! If by genre, or country, the list is too long. So I have decided to divide the world into five regions, each with a gallery that includes a range of styles, genres and treatments. For the purpose of these galleries, I have classed Turkey under ‘Asia’, even though many of the images have been taken in the European part, in Istanbul.
In addition to my ‘world region’ galleries, I have added a gallery of the images that I have recently submitted to my Circle (Circle 71) at United Photographic Postfolios.

All of these galleries will be updated from time to time, so do please come back.
